Personal growth.
A friend from my hometown of Syracuse called today to share some exciting news with me. He purchased a house on a 13-acre plot of land. Four bedrooms. Three point five baths. A back patio with a pool. The land includes a babbling brook at the edge of the property. He told me that since it’s been so hot, it was more of stuttering brook than a babbling brook. He laughed. I acknowledged what had just happened. He also told me that he was going to ask his girlfriend to move in with him… into his house. I congratulated him and said I’d come visit in a few months. He asked me how I had been. I informed him that I too had made an exciting purchase today. I purchased a tiny BB-shooting cannon that I was inspired to buy after watching a viral youtube video and that I had to do about an hour of searching to find.
There were about 5-6 seconds of silence on the phone until I said, “Yeah, and it’s pretty hot outside here, too.”
